Toastmasters International helps members improve their communication and leadership skills in clubs around the world. It was established in the U.S. in 1924, and has now some 15,400 clubs in 135 countries. More than 330,000 members are learning in those clubs.  In toastmasters clubs, people from all walks of life can learn at their own pace. There is no teacher there. Instead, by playing various roles such as speakers, evaluators, facilitators and officers, and by affecting each other, they improve their public speaking skills, listening skills and critical thinking skills in a friendly atmosphere of club meetings, and obtain self-confidence in leadership as a result. In Japan, there exist English clubs, Japanese clubs, bilingual clubs of English and Japanese, Chinese clubs and French clubs.
